Sustainable Wild Plant Medicines of the North East with Bard College Wildroots Wellness Collective (online)

Plants like dandelion, chickweed, cleavers and violet grow abundantly all around Bard, and are especially plentiful in spring. Often referred to derisively as “weeds,” these plants have been honored for centuries for their culinary, medicinal and spiritual powers.

What are the healing weeds of Annandale-on-Hudson and the surrounding areas? How can we incorporate these abundant plants into our daily lives? In this workshop, Jess will create space for folks’ remembrances of healing weeds, talk about the origins of key introduced plants and discuss the systems in the body that they support. She will share ideas for simple recipes, including herbal infusions, syrups and herbal pestos—all in service of building kinship with the plants that call our bioregion home.
